Lydia F. Gray, DVM, MA

Lydia F. Gray, DVM, MA currently serves as the Medical Director and Staff Veterinarian for SmartPak Equine.  Prior to joining SmartPak, she was the Executive Director of the Hooved Animal Humane Society and the first-ever Director of Owner Education for the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP).  Dr. Gray has written for many equine publications including The Horse, Horse Illustrated and Western Horseman, as well as a number of veterinary journals. 

She has also presented at several equine and veterinary events such as Equine Affaire and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Annual Convention.  Dr. Gray is currently president-elect of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA) and enjoys riding, training and showing her Trakehner gelding “Newman” in her spare time.  She is working on her USDF Bronze Medal in dressage and recently become involved in combined driving.
