Lara Pilla

A native New Yorker, Lara Pilla was living in Venice Beach, Calif., when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in June 1998. After her diagnosis, Lara adopted Mingo, a tiny black kitten, to supplement the support of her friends and family. Mingo was just what Lara needed – independent, full of energy and attentive when Lara needed him most. After 10 years together, a second diagnosis in July 2005 and a move across country, Lara and Mingo have an undeniable bond.

Lara currently resides in New York City and is proud to share her breast cancer survival story to help support Susan G. Komen for the Cure® with Purina® Cat Chow®.
