Dr. Jeff Nichol, D.V.M.

Jeff Nichol, D.V.M. has practiced companion pet medicine and surgery since graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in 1974. Dr. Nichol is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association, and has served as president of the Albuquerque Veterinary Association.
Dr. Nichol began his career in Albuquerque, NM. In 1976 he moved to Sacramento, CA to practice and take additional training in cardiology. In 1978 he purchased the Adobe Animal Medical Center in Albuquerque and practiced full time there for 25 years. Currently he cares for the medical needs of pets at the VCA Wyoming Animal Hospital in Albuquerque .
Dr. Nichol began developing his expertise in behavior medicine in the late 1970s. One on one pet owner consultation has been a growing part of his practice since 1990. He currently devotes 50% of his time to behavior work. The rest of his energy is still largely dedicated to the hands-on treatment of pets with physical illnesses and injuries. The questions and answers that comprise a major portion of his three books have been a popular weekly feature of the Albuquerque Journal since 1996.
