The Team
Jill Sullivan Grueter, Team Leader
Sensitive and kind, Jill’s passion is to help animal rescues in need with eco-friendly renovations. By trade, she is a writer and began helping local animal rescues five years ago with her writing services after the death of her dad awakened her calling to help those in need. This is when she discovered how needed these renovations were. Working with a hammer and nail isn’t something she is accustomed to, but her team of carpenters has pledged to show her the ropes throughout the series. Don’t be fooled by her “all-American, girl-next-door” demeanor, Jill is a 3rd degree black belt in karate, plays a mean game of golf, and has taken to the skies as a pilot-in-training!
James “JB” Byrne, Project Lead, Master Carpenter
A strong leader with a warm heart, JB has built multi-million dollar homes along the Seacoast of New Hampshire for over a decade. He credits years of historic remodel and renovation for giving him the problem solving skills that are needed to be an effective team leader. JB is an award-winning carpenter and recognized by his peers for his craftsmanship and dedication to his trade. Volunteerism has always been important to JB. Project Pawsitive is especially important to him because it gives the opportunity to combine his passion for his trade with his love of animals, wildlife, and the outdoors.
Simon MacAllister, Master Electrician
A lady-killer, British accent and all, Simon is a master electrician and has lived in the USA for the last 10 years. Before his move here, he lived in Portsmouth England. Simon explains, “in England, being a young bloke, I had a keen interest in sound and lighting and I even tried my hand as a DJ. After growing out of the "night life" scene I went on to get a "real job" with an electrical company wiring a chain of steak house restaurants.” Simon remarks that he loves to give back, especially if it means making the lives of animals and their caretakers better.
Drew Davis, Master Carpenter (digs holes by hand!)
Don’t be bluffed by Drew’s tattooed exterior, his heart is bigger than his 6’4 stature! He is a stonemason who believes in quality, custom design and great service. He has worked closely with JB to build beautiful custom homes throughout Seacoast, NH. When asked what Project Pawsitive means to Drew, he said, “my involvement with Project Pawsitive stems from my love of animals and the caring people who give up so much of themselves to keep organizations running that help animals in need, on next-to-nothing budgets. Working on this team is a perfect combination of the values and skills I hold dear. If I can continue to help make a better environment for the animals, or make it easier for these wonderful people who run these shelters to pay it forward, then I will do all I can with the skills I posses to make an influence and difference in their lives, with pride in my work and joy in my heart.”
