Dr. Carol McConnell

Dr. McConnell has been employed by VPI since 2004, joining the Company as director of veterinary education and services. Her new post as vice president and chief veterinary medical officer tasks her with responsibilities in three key business areas: the implementation of VPI’s underwriting guidelines and rules; the research and development of new product offerings; and company representation to the veterinary community. She is also responsible for overseeing all medical-related decisions at the Company.

Prior to joining VPI, Dr. McConnell was with ALZA Pharmaceuticals and Priority Veterinary Consultants, a veterinary practice management consulting firm. She practiced veterinary medicine for three years at a Delaware veterinary hospital, and was a guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania and a veterinary radiology fellow at UC Davis. Her professional affiliations include being a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors (AVPMCA). She holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis.

Dr. McConnell is the recipient of several awards, including an AVMA award for promoting the veterinary profession.
