Amanda Ringnalda is a master educator at the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in Carlsbad, California, and serves as a host for many of the Center’s large live events. For over a decade she has studied closely under Chopra Center co-founders, Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon, and gleaned wisdom from many other luminaries. She has completed three Chopra Center teaching certifications (Primordial Sound Meditation, Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, and Perfect Health: Ayurvedic Lifestyle). She has also completed both the 200- and 500-hour yoga teacher certifications from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers.
Another way she expresses her dharma (purpose) is in her leadership role as the Chopra Center’s vice president of client services and operations, where she guides and collaborates with the Center staff to fulfill Deepak’s mission of mass mindfulness.
Amanda’s first yoga practice in 1996 connected her to a quiet space within, a space she had always longed for. The more time spent there, the more peaceful and fun life became. With this as her inspiration, she knew she’d spend the rest of her life exploring the timeless Vedic practices and finding ways to perpetuate the spiritual teachings, which can transform our lives in countless positive and powerful ways.
Growing up working at the family’s pet-store business in Lake Tahoe, California, Amanda found dogs to be kindred spirits, and life without canine companionship became unimaginable. After discovering a passion for the practices of Ayurveda later in her life, exploration began into ways Ayurvedic wisdom could support vibrant health, balance, and well-being for dogs too! Amanda teaches classes on “Doshas for Dogs” and founded an organization called SoulPlayMates which focuses on dog wellbeing education, dog rescue, and animal advocacy.
Amanda lives in North County San Diego with her husband, Rene, and at least a handful of happy dogs.
