Dr. Barbara Davis

Dr. Davis is the CEO and President of Innogenics. She has over 25 years of experience in veterinary pathology and molecular analysis and genetics of cancer and has over 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications including several book chapters.
After graduating from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, Dr. Davis worked in small and large animal private practices gaining great insights to veterinary-client-pet relationships. Her passion for pathology led her back to academics in pursuit of a pathology residency and PhD in veterinary pathology and toxicology from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Davis advanced her research career and interests at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, National Institutes of Health, where she rose to serve as the chief of the first NIH intramural laboratory dedicated to researching diseases of women.

A large part of her research focused on uterine leiomyoma including executing a clinical study to examine the growth patterns, therapeutic interventions and molecular characteristics of growing and non-growing tumors. These experiences led directly to her pursuit of drug development and to move to Boston, MA. Her desire to give back to her profession led her to accept a professorship at Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, North Grafton, MA, where she revamped the pathology department and histology laboratory services and oversaw a 3 million dollar renovation of the pathology laboratory facilities. Through these experiences Dr. Davis identified the need to advance state-of-the-art diagnostics and therapies to veterinary medicine and co-founded Innogenics to meet this need.
