Benicia Vallejo Humane Society mission of to offer refuge, medical care, nourishment and an opportunity for a second chance for life to unwanted animals; To protect animals from cruelty, neglect, carelessness and ignorance; To foster a public sentiment of humanity and gentleness toward all animals through education and encouragement; And to promote the lifelong commitment of responsible pet ownership. The Organization is divided into two divisions Humane Services runs on donations, grants and fundraising: covers adoptions, community outreach, spay/neuter of owned and feral animals, emergency medical needs of animals, volunteers, fundraising and animal concerns in the community. Animal Services covers the contract with the City of Vallejo for Animal Control in Vallejo.


Description of Job/Duties: As Director of Humane Services oversees the operation of the intake and adoption of animals, community outreach, development director, Humane Education and responsible pet guardian education and manages a staff of 2 Animal/Customer Care techs, Volunteer Coordinator and an office Manager.  Saving Lives of homeless and helpless Animals.


Peter began serving the animals in the community with the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society in May 2003 as the Community Outreach Director and in 2005; the Board of Directors reorganized the Humane Society with two Divisions, Humane Services and Animal Services. Peter has taken the lead on making changes in the feeding and care of the Animals at the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society.
