Dr. Karen Thomas

 

Dr. Karen Thomas, is originally from a little town in southwest Virginia.
She graduated with her DVM degree from Michigan State University in 1970 at
a time when there were very few females in the profession. After several
years working for others she started her own practice in Riverdale, Georgia
(Three Counties Animal Hospital) in 1978 and this year celebrates her 30
year anniversary. She treat dogs, cats and a selection of exotic animals.

Dr. Thomas began raising and exhibiting Burmese cats in 1975 under the
cattery name Panthat. She is also a lifetime Girl Scout and currently
volunteers with her local council as a trainer of girl scout leaders.

Dr. Thomas is married with no children, 4 dogs, 12 cats, one sheep and a
llama. Now semi-retired, she spends most of her time providing veterinary
services to local rescue groups and humane societies at reduced rates.
