Since the 1970’s, Dr. Marty, as he’s called, has been a trailblazer in this space, combining conventional and complementary medicine to help thousands and thousands of pets around the country and probably the world. He was the vet conventional vets would send clients to, when there was nothing else they could do to save their pets. And Dr. Marty, in many cases, would save them…naturally. Dr. Marty Goldstein earned his DVM from Cornell University in 1973.  He was certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 1977 and was one of the founding members of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. Over the last four decades, Dr. Marty has given seminars on alternative therapies nationwide and has appeared on numerous regional and national radio, television and podcastding programs, including the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Martha Show and Good Morning America. He is also the author of “The Nature of Animal Healing”, first published in 1999 and considered the best selling pet health book in history, and more recently, The Spirit of Animal Healing.  Foryears, he hosted his own weekly program, “Ask Martha’s Vet with Dr Marty” on Martha Stewart’s Sirius/XM satellite radio network. Dr. Goldstein founded the Smith Ridge Veterinary Center in South Salem, NY, a state-of-the-art facility.  They specialized in the use of integrative medicine and complementary modalities for maintaining animal wellness and treating chronic and degenerative illnesses, especially cancer. 

For the last several years, Dr. Marty has had his own line of freeze-dried raw pet food called, Dr. Marty’s Pets.  Dr. Marty, his wife and three daughters share their lives with dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rabbit and chickens in a very happy home.
