BIO:
I'm the author of Safari (Workman, 2012), a New York Times bestseller, and the upcoming Ocean (Workman, 2014) and well as another yet-to-be-named Workman title. Currently, I'm a freelance writer and editor and have recently published content for The New York Times, DailyWorth.com., EarthPulse, and the AARP Bulletin. In the past decade, I've been a staff writer for National Geographic magazine and the National Affairs Reporter for Reader's Digest, and well as an executive editor with AARP monitoring the caregiving/community/books beat with my stable of wonderful writers. Before my "written word" life, I worked in television news, for ABC News, Fox News, PBS and for CBS News in New York on a fellowship. I live in the Washington, D.C. area with my husband, two kids, and two charming and obese rescue cats.
