New Strides in Funding Your Pet Passion
You know you should get your dog out for a walk at least once a day but sometimes your recliner is much more enticing than your dogs wagging tail. What if you had some motivation that benefited your waistline, your bond with your pup and without you having to spend a penny, donated money to your favorite pet charity? What if you don’t have a dog but would still like to help? There is an app for that.
My guest is Doug Hexter. He is the creator of WoofTrax and the app Walk for a Dog. He will explain how a walk around the block can earn money your local shelter or rescue. So, get ready to tie on your walking shoes and support your passion of helping pets.
BIO:
Doug founded WoofTrax in 2014 to build a stronger connection between animal charities, and the pet parents who get their pets from them. WoofTrax fulfills his passion for dogs by creating new ways to harness the energy of the millions of people walking their dogs everyday to promote the chance to earn support for a local animal charity, while also supporting the health benefits of simply walking.
In 2015 Hexter & WoofTrax was awarded the Peace Jam Hero Award for education and community development. The award was presented in Monte Carlo, by Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, the winner of the Noble Peace Prize in 1980. Peace Jam and its Billion Acts of Peace campaign is supported by 14 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.
Doug has worked with, and help found, several companies at the intersection of technology and marketing over the past 20 years.
He received a masters from Cornell University, and lives in Western Massachusetts.
