KCS – The Eyes Have It!
In this episode of ER VET, Dr. Justine Lee, DACVECC, DABT, board-certified emergency critical care veterinary specialist and toxicologist interviews Dr. Shelby Reinstein, DACVO, board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist about dry eye or "KCS" in dogs. How do we diagnose it and treat it?
Dr. Shelby Reinstein is a board certified ophthalmologist and runs the ophthalmology service at the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Levittown, Pa. She is also the VETgirl eye expert! She graduated from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship at Michigan State and then a one-year internship in vision research at the Retinal Disease Studies Facility at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After completing the specialty internship, Dr. Reinstein completed three-year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
