Robin Ganzert is President and Chief Executive Officer of American Humane Association, the nation’s voice for the protection of children and animals. Upon joining the organization in October 2010, Robin began achieving substantial progress in increasing global awareness about the organization, improving its operational efficiency, and enhancing the effectiveness of its programs – as well as establishing new efforts of national significance, including the Animal Welfare Research Institute, the Children’s Innovation Institute, the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards™, and a major research study on the effects of animal-assisted therapy on children with cancer.

Prior to joining American Humane Association, Robin served as Deputy Director of Philanthropic Services at The Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Pew, Robin was Senior Vice President and National Director of Philanthropic Strategies at Wachovia Wealth Management, a division of Wachovia Bank, N.A. She formerly served as the National Director of the Wachovia Center for Planned Giving.

Robin received her B.S. and M.B.A. from Wake Forest University and her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She holds five professional financial management and accounting certifications, including Accredited Investment Fiduciary and Management Accounting.

Robin lives in North Carolina with her husband, three children, dogs, cats, and horses.
