Cara Armour has dedicated her life to bringing out the best in pets as an pet sitter of the year, professional dog trainer, pet industry business consultant and leading pet safety expert with Pro Pet Hero. Join us as she shares ways pet parents and pet professionals can add pet first aid and safety skills via ZOOM (live and interactive classes) with Pro Pet Hero, the leading international online pet safety program. Oh, and yeah, she is also the proud pet parent to a superstar in the dog agility arena -- a boxer named Debbie who is the No. 1 ranked American Kennel Club Agility boxer.
BIO:
In 2003 after meeting her husband at a local dog park they started Active Paws Inc., a professional dog walking and training business based in the greater Boston, MA area. In 2009, Cara was awarded Pet Sitter of the Year, the industry’s highest honor awarded by Pet Sitters International where she had the privilege of meeting Arden Moore who was speaking at the conference in San Diego. Since that time the business has been awarded a series of accolades and Cara has honed her passion for caring for pets into one of saving and training them. She also became a Karen Pryor Academy certified training partner and trains using positive reinforcement methods.
Having been trained in Pet First Aid & CPR since 2003 she then became a master pet first aid/CPR instructor and product manager for ProPetHero, an online pet first aid/CPR course program. Having met Arden, a fellow master pet first aid/CPR instructor, Cara asked Arden to team up with ProPetHero to create the ProPetHero Instructor program, a program that teaches people like you, how to teach others how to save pets.
When Cara is not positively training other pups she is busy running around the agility ring with her own Boxers including such arenas as Westminster. She currently runs the #1 and #4 top AKC agility Boxers, the first Boxer to ever win an agility grand championship and multiple agility championships. She plays with her dogs in other sports like scent work, lure coursing and conformation. Basically, when Cara is not working with dogs, she is working with her dogs. Oh, and her house is run by a cool cat named Kit Cat, 8 pounds of Tuxedo cat class!
