BIO:
Travis Brandwood is the President and Founder of the Jellyfish Warehouse, a company that specializes in the aquaculture of a wide variety of jellyfish for public aquariums, research institutions and hobbyists. Although Travis started the Jellyfish Warehouse in 2017, he began keeping and breeding jellyfish in 2011, and has worked with over 60 species. In 2018, Travis created The Jellyfish Owner’s Association Facebook group which was originally intended as an educational resource for those interested in learning how to keep jellyfish. Over just a few years, it has grown into a group of 4000 members from around the world who contribute and share their findings and questions regarding the art and science of jellyfish keeping. In 2022, Travis embarked on a new project, The Jellyfish Compendium, with the goal of documenting and photographing the life stages of every species of jellyfish. The information is compiled onto a website domain that is free for public use. Travis hopes that by making The Jellyfish Compendium open and easily accessible, this resource will assist researchers, public aquarists, aquaculturists – in fact, anyone interested - in unravel the mysterious lives of jellyfish and inspire greater fascination and stewardship for our ocean and its ecosystems.
