BIO:
Joe Pawlak is President of Blackwater Creek Koi Farms Inc. based in Florida, and the National Organization of Goldfish Growers in America (NOGGA). His role is guidance of the business's 65 acres of ponds and facilities comprised of 3 farms located in central and northwestern Florida. Blackwater Creek Koi Farms specializes in butterfly koi as well as standard fin koi and various goldfish varieties. In addition, Joe produces and sells high quality koi and goldfish food under the Aquatic Nutrition Inc. label.
What makes their business unique is the fact that they isolated themselves from the outside fish world approximately 7 years ago. This has provided them greater biosecurity and protection from various emerging fish diseases in the industry and the ability to proactively abide by the new and upcoming international laws regarding fish transport. Over 30 varieties of koi are currently in production at Blackwater Creek Koi Farms Inc. However, the number of varieties produced continues to expand and each year brings new colors /patterns and types not seen before. As an American koi farm, there are many challenges that face the business—but continued efforts with hardwork and dedication have paid off and Blackwater Creek Koi Farms is now recognized as a top producer of quality koi here in the USA.
