BIO:
Dr. Helen Roberts is a 1990 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in small animal surgery and exotic pet medicine and surgery. She also treats pet fish patients and owns Aquatic Veterianry Services of WNY.
She is very active in community activities including public health work for Erie County and is the co-leader of the Veterinary Sector of the regional Specialized Medical Assistance Response Team (SMART), a multi-medical discipline team for disaster response.
Dr Roberts also lectures internationally on aquatic animal medicine and surgery, is a consultant for the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), and teaches courses on pharmacology and zoonotic diseases for VetMedTeam.
She is the editor and co-author of a new book, "Fundamentals of Ornamental Fish Health" published by Wiley-Blackwell (November 2009).
