The California Wildfires’ & the animals in its path; How you can help or be helped.  Best Friends Animal Society (lost pet line at 626-715-0262) is searching streets for lost pets and working to reunite them with displaced owners.  Pasadena Humane is leading efforts 626-792-7151*970, La Animal Services and Boomers’ Buddies Rescue, and working with Cleo’s Critter care which has set up an online amazon donation list.   If you can please donate!  The Shepherdess of Land & Livestock was coordinating convoys of cars rescuing animals and tending to farm animals left behind. !  Most of all, FOSTER HOMES, AND ADOPTION HOMES ARE NEEDED FOR PETS!  888-452-7381 PLEASE CALL IF YOU HAVE SPACE IN YOUR HOME FOR A WELL-LOVED PET.   If you see wildlife in distress, please call 626-344-1129.  Looking at the footage of the fires is so devastating yet hopeful and watching Canadian night flyers arrive to tackle the fire with water bombing at night (when its most effective) was a moment of pride for Deborah as a Canadian.  Wishing our American neighbors safety at this time.

If you or your pets have been exposed to smoke, adding cooked yam to your diet can help.  Most dogs love yams - raw or cooked, plain.   With a bit of cinnamon and butter cooked yams are a treat for most people so swap out potatoes for yams for a while and get the smoke detoxifying effects.
