The Lion in the Living Room
Abigail Tucker is author of The Lion in the Living Room, which became a New York Time's Bestseller. This wonderful book was also named a “Best Science Book” in 2016 by Library Journal, and Forbes and is now translating it into thirteen languages. It also happens to be Rita's FAVORITE book about cats and trust us... Rita's read a lot of books about cats!
Among her many achievements, Abigail is also a correspondent for Smithsonian Magazine, and has been featured in The Best American Science and Nature Writing. She recently came out with a new book entitled, "Mom Genes."
Abigail stepped away from her writing, her husband, four children, and new kitty to talk to Rita and Linda about The Lion in the Living Room and what inspired her to write it. She researched felines’ past, history, pop culture, and just how they came to be in our living rooms. She met breeders, cat advocates, and many others during her quest to learn about all things "cat." Abigail even visited labs as they sorted through feline bones unearthed from the first human settlements. She shared her travels and what she learned with Linda and Rita, and all of you.
